If you, or your kid, have ever wanted to fly the greatest possible paper airplanes, then you’ve come to the right place!
The best way to get started flying really cool paper airplanes is to buy a book containing preprinted patterns, and Amazon has a wonderful one for sale, Kangaroo’s Paper Airplane Kit. This book has GREAT reviews; check it out! At only $14.95, it seems a wonderful stocking stuffer / birthday party gift to me. Maybe I’ll even buy one for my brother’s wedding anniversary?
If for some reason you don’t like this book, (why?), Amazon has some alternatives available. For all you cheapskates who dread the idea of spending even a penny, there is the Whoosh! Easy Paper Airplanes for Kids book by Dover, selling for only $4.95. Then there is the Fold N Fly Paper Airplanes Kit selling for less than $8.00. Finally, there is Fold & Fly Paper Airplanes, which looks to be a slightly cheaper version of the Kangaroo Paper Airplane Kit, and which, if it had more reviews, I would more strongly recommend.
I’m going to stick with Kangaroo’s Paper Airplane Kit for me ……. er, I mean my kid. After all, it is Amazon’s Best Sellers in the Paper Airplane Construction Kits category.
If you need additional ideas for paper airplane designs, check out The Ultimate Guide to Paper Airplanes. This book gives step-by-step instructions on how to make an additional 35 types of paper airplanes. Or, for an even greater challenge, tackle The World’s Greatest Paper Airplane and Toy Book.
Finally, if you feel you’ve mastered the basics of paper airplane craft, and are ready to crank it up a notch to the next level, then maybe you’re ready for the PowerUp 2.0 Electric Paper Airplane Conversion kit. This product is claimed to be able to, “Deliver enough power for 30 seconds of flight with just a 20-second charge.” I’m not quite at this level yet, and the product seems somewhat tricky to operate, (read the reviews!), but it looks so very promising that it is on my wish list of future purchases.
These are my top choices for all paper airplane pilots at the moment. We know how things constantly change, and should Amazon add a great new paper airplane product I’ll be sure to add it to this list. In the meantime, happy flying!
P.S. – I was hesitant to add this last product, because of its cost, but I would feel remiss to leave it off. The PowerUp 3.0 Smartphone Controlled Paper Airplane costs a whopping $50.00, but is such a cool concept that if it works as claimed, (read the reviews!), then it takes paper airplanes to the next level and beyond! A paper airplane DIY drone! How cool is that!
