A New Twist on Book Porn?

As frequent readers of FullofKnowledge know, one of our authors, Laurie Tysinger, has created the term “Book Porn” to describe her insatiable desire to purchase books. Note that these are REAL paper and ink books, not digital eBooks of any form.

Her article on this subject struck a chord with many of us “lusting bookies”. Here on FoK, (and I assume back in the “real world” as well), we chat about how our craving for books leads to the inevitable problems of storage, angry spouses, and confused children, who wonder why we claim a portion of shelf space in “their” bedrooms for our overflowing collections of fine, (and not-so-fine), literature.

Well, now it appears that a new twist on the term “Book Porn” will become the norm, and we will have to clarify to the uninitiated exactly what we are referring to when we describe our addiction. I am speaking, of course, of the new novel, “The Juliette Society”, written by Sasha Grey.

Why is this novel significant? To start with, it is an erotic novel, which I am sure it’s publisher hopes will enjoy the same success as “”50 Shades of Grey”, the bestseller erotic romance novel released in 2011. The other notable fact behind this novel relates to the author. She is an ex-porn star.

Talk about art imitating life imitating art! Sasha has “walked the walk”, so to speak, so she is certainly in a “position” to write about it. But I wonder if her skills as a writer match her skills at …. well, you know!

Apparently somebody thinks so, as a recent Fox News article states that, “20th Century Fox has already bought the rights to turn the book into a movie.”

Hmm …. I wonder who the actors in the film version of her book will be?

The rough draft of this article was originally posted on Bubblews, then it was “spiffed up” a bit and posted on FullofKnowledge.
