Clickworker – the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

If you’ve wondered where I’ve been lately, I’ve been plugging away at Clickworker, earning a few dollars here and there.  Yes DOLLARS!  It’s nice to be earning something more than a few pennies, like most of my other hair-brained “earn money online” schemes.

While hardly a Clickworker expert or veteran, in the past month by diligently clicking away I have earned almost $100!  Now $100/month won’t, (or at least it shouldn’t!), change your standard of living, but it sure beats everything else I’ve tried.  For comparison, I’ve made less than $5.00 as an Amazon affiliate after two years, and a wee bit more than $5.00 on Adsense after more than five years.  As for AdFly and LinkBucks ….. hah!  Don’t even waste your time!

Without anymore babble, here are what I consider the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly with regards to Clickworker.

The Good

Clickworker is free to join.  (Be a sport and join Clickworker under my affiliate code, and I’ll get a small referral fee: join Clickworker.)

You can work as often or as little as you choose, at your own hours.  (Yes, a job I can finally do at 2:00 am sitting at the kitchen table in my underwear!)

Clickworker actually pays!  Every Wednesday I’ve received into my PayPal account all the money I’m owed.  (Not a whole lot yet, but I’m just getting started.)

The tasks, particularly if you qualify for UHRS, can be done quickly enough so that you can easily earn an extra $20.00 a week.  With the slightest bit of diligence you should be able to push this up to $30.00, $40.00, or $50.00 and beyond.  Today is Friday, and I’ve already earned more than $30.00 this week.  With a little bit of effort I should be able to hit $40.00 or more.

If you approach it with the right attitude, it’s a lot of fun.  Kinda like playing Candy Crush Saga, expect you get paid for it!

The Bad

You will need to pass qualification tests to get access to any of the yummy money making tasks.

Clickworker itself responds too slowly too make any serious money with.  The money is to be made using UHRS, which you get access to by passing more of those qualification tests.

Most Clickworker tasks are easy, but every now and then you’ll hit one that is ludicrously difficult for the rate, (2, 3, or 4 cents).  Skipping these “bad tasks” is time consuming.  Then again, if you’re doing this for money, you’ll be using UHRS anyway.

You will need a validated PayPal account to get paid.  If your PayPal account is not validated, your money may disappear.

UHRS works best with the Internet Explorer browser, so you’ll have to have a good antivirus software installed on your PC, and keep it up-to-date.

There is a three week delay for the money you’ve earned on UHRS actually being paid out by Clickworker.

Clickworker can become addictive.   (see below)

The Ugly

Many online articles/posts claiming you can earn a HUGH amount of money via Clickworker/UHRS are highly exaggerated.  Start with a modest goal, say $20.00/week, then look to grow that amount as you become more familiar with how Clickworker and UHRS work.

I’m not sure who wrote the UHRS software, but it behaves much like the software put out by the Microslop of old, meaning it is buggy, and frequently doesn’t work properly.

Sometimes there aren’t any good UHRS tasks to work on.  (Inevitably this occurs when you have a lot of free time on your hands.  Grr!!)

Sometimes you’ll go through the trouble of passing a qualification test for a set of tasks, only to be told afterwards there are no tasks left.

Sometimes you’ll go through the trouble of passing a qualification test for a set of tasks, then when you go to start your first task, UHRS causes IE to crash.  Grr!!!

Sometimes you’ll not pass a qualification test because the answers were clearly thought up by lunatics.  (This is particularly true of tasks related to “Celebrity Gossip”.)

Sometimes you’ll be rejected from further work on a set of tasks because the answers were clearly thought up by lunatics.  Grr!!

Clickworker, particularly the UHRS part of it, is EXTREMELY addictive, and may cause tension between you and the rest of your family.

If you’ve been looking for an easy, convenient way to make a little extra money online, I would highly recommend you give Clickworker a try.  It, (and UHRS), do have their issues, but since it is free to join, you have nothing to lose but a little bit of your time.  And who knows …. you may be a more proficient “Clickworker” than me, and earn $100 or more per week!
