Novice Affiliate – Part 07

So how did my newly revived affiliate marketing business do in February/2016?  Did big bags of money come rolling up to my doorstep?

To date my Amazon store, ( ), has “earned” a paltry 83¢.  Whipee!

Okay, to be fair, I don’t have the numbers yet on my Tumblr accounts to drive the business.  You’re supposed to have 2,000+ followers per account, and on my two accounts I barely have a combined following of 200.  (You’re supposed to have more than two accounts too!)  It will take time and effort to build up the followers.  (Dec/2016 update: you should really have 4,000+ followers per Tumblr account, and five or more accounts.)

Here are the cruel numbers for my affiliate business to date.  Note that I am not counting anything as “income” until it actually reaches my PayPal or Bank Account.  So, until I reach the minimum cash-out amount for Amazon and Adsense, they will show as zero.  (These numbers have all been rounded off for ease of use!)

So what we’re looking at here is a return of about $80.00, after spending $310.00.  Wow!  That’s almost as bad as the returns on a MLM “business”!  (The YTD numbers are even worse.)

Maybe I should stick with Clickworker?

Nah!  While the ISP charge is ongoing, the rest of the expenses are one-time only, so if sales pick up in March I should come closer to breaking even.

Sigh …….  Why is it so hard to earn money?
